Opinions: Favorite Spoiler on Black SC
#55
Of those in the original post, on a scale of 1 to 7, 7 being best:
Spoilerless: Looks good, not all cars can pull this off, I think ours can. However it does look much better with the rear window spoiler.
Rated 4/7 Because what could be more neutral than no spoiler?
Factory 92-96: Clean, not too big, works with the rear window spoiler, integrated tail light, flows well with the SC's lines. Although from directly behind I do think it visually slims the rear end.
Rated 7/7 First and still the best on a stock car in my opinion.
Factory 97+: I think this was a mistake by Lexus. It looks too much like every other spoiler offered on every other car. And I think the sharp angle on the sides doesn't flow well with our cars.
Rated 1/7 Generic.
Origin: A tasteful lip is a good thing on many cars, ours included. However it annoys me that Origin's spoiler doesn't go to the edges of the trunk. Even on their site it shows that it leaves a little gap by not being as wide as the trunk. Seems of poor quality by doing that in my opinion.
Rated 3/7 Doesn't look like it fits right.
Bomex: That wing is huge. Big whale tail spoilers were in at one time and this one fit the bill. Not to my tastes, but it doesn't necessarily look wrong on our cars either.
Rated 2/7 How brash do you want to be?
Veilside Executive: Like the Bomex (big), but not as tall. Looks like it would visually elongate our cars even further, if you are going for that sort of thing. It was a good design decision for it to hang off the sides to meet the horizontal line on our cars, unlike the Bomex.
Rated 6/7 Polarizing, but good design decisions.
Wise: Good looking spoiler, not too high, not too wide, maybe a little too skinny. The angles compliment angled body kits though, a little out of place on a stock car or one with a less aggressive kit.
Rated 5/7 Needs a kit to match it.
I voted for the 92-96, but I think I will look seriously at the Veilside Executive when the time comes for my body mods.
