Default Is this right?

I have a stock 93 5speed and i was wondering.. is this right? apparently I red line at 100mph?? Just wondering if this is normal or my rpm is off or someone swapped the rear end? I feel like im killing a whole lot of gas. No this car wasnt manual swapped. It should be w58 and 4.08 ratio??

Holy crap no. It's like you're in 3rd or something? Sucks man, time to swap a rear end it seems.

Rock on for the low miles though lol

Redline at 5th gear should be around 145+mph on stock rear end + W58.

thats very close to having a 6.70 rear end! how the..... why the....?

W58:
1- 3.285
2- 1.894
3- 1.275
4- 1.000
5- 0.783

plug that in this excel sheet(bottom green box download it have fun with it) with 6.70 as the gear ratio for proof, evidence or what ever you wanna call it

Well how is this even possible?? how could my speedometer be accurate if my differential is off so much anyway? Wouldn't changing the rear end effect my speedometer? I feel like im going to blow up every time im on the highway.

the speedometer is right, changing the gear ratio will not effect it as the speed sensors are still doing their job correctly.

it just seems like someone either messed up the transmission gears BADLY or somehow found a extremely high rear end gear ratio. this is quite odd haha.

how are gears 1-4, are they very very short?

your 5th gear right now is basically 3rd gear in a normal 5 speed SC300

you said the car feels like it's going to blow up on the highway.... are you saying that because the reading is so high or is the car actually revving that high?

i really hope the end of this thread doesn't end with you never shifting into 5th gear and going from 4th back to 3rd thinking your in 5th....

forget what the tach says how does your car sound , is it really redlining or isd it a false reading from the tach?

And in my sc4 auto im around 2000rpm at highway cruising speed, 60mph/100kmh.

Something is very wrong, if its just your tach reading wrong then who cares, but idf your really redlining at highway speed u need to do something before u ruin ur engine.
