Default "F"ing radio

My SC has been sitting for a few weeks since I've been out of town. When I got back, everything was fine, but the second day the stereo quit working and just displayed this

No sound and it doesn't illuminate when the lights are on. Buttons and ***** do nothing. Any ideas?

If you need a radio and its a Nakamichi, I have one lying around and a CD changer for the trunk... I dont know what would cause this. I have never seen this before on the display. I am thinking maybe it got to hot in the interior and the heat caused the problem???????

Possible heat will make display look like that. New radio will fix of it still doesn't work after cooling down.

Not a heat issue. The radio displays nothing when off, turns on with the car and displays that.

Try pulling plug out from the radio. Let it sit 5 minutes then plug again to hard reset.

You can try disconnecting battery first then reconnect five minutes later. Of that don't work, try unplugging gradio unit.

Take it apart and check all the connections between the faceplate of the radio and the unit. Just a suggestion, I don't know if it will work but worth a shot. And does the unit play any music? Like when you press the buttons, do the stations change, but you just can't see to what?

Edit. Just re-read your post. No sound and what not. But still worth a shot to take it apart....

Hard reset fixed it. Disconnected the battery for a bit, hooked it up and now the radio works again. Thanks for everybody's input

That's good. Hopefully it won't happen again.
