Default I need advice please!!

So the story goes like this I have the TTC 268 cams,bc springs and retainer, the new Titan cam gears, and I also decided to do basic maintnace for peace of mind which Is the water and oil pump so in doing that I figure now is the best time to do timing belt and this is where I have a problem I order a gates timing belt and shortly after I had a buddy of mine inform me that the gates belt is a bit shorter the oem and will cause the tensioner bracket to snap at high rpms. And I have another person that is telling me that it's not true since are motors use a hydraulic tension so it automatically adjusts to the belt.

When I hit the search button everyone is talking about interference motors and billet tensions.. But i don't think my cams cause interference because they have a 9.14 lift so

my options are:
1. Return gates and install oem
2. Install gates I will be fine
3.option 1 and 2 can't be trusted install gates and billet tensioner.

2. for me.

Gates make some of the OEM belts. I ran gates on my GS300 for 125k miles and now it's due for another timing belt and water pump job which i do in couples weeks.

You know you must remove the oil pan off to replace the oil pump right?

Your cams arent interference, so youll be just fine with the gates belt. I ran one on my MKIII, never had an issue with the tensioner
