Default head light restoring question

hey guys, i have recently opened up my head lights so i can refinish them because they are all aged and blah blah blah. so, i open it up, and the chrome housing is faded in some spots, i dont know if faded is the term to be used, but the chrome housing has some sports where i can literally see right through it! i need some suggestions from cl so i can repair this or make it better, thanks alot guys!

Well the SC headlights dont use the housing to help projecting the light beam and got its own projectors. So you can basically do whatever you want with it without affecting the efficiency of the light beam. Paint it, re-chrome it, literally do whatever you want with it.

thanks for the reply... dose anyone have any thoughts on what could be cool or different instead of rechroming it? also, i have no idea how to rechrome, are there any precautions or anything i should know when going about doing this

A good number of people paint it black. I suggest painting it a silver since chrome paint usually doesn't turn out looking like the stock. Or, you can color match it to your car

i thought of doing that too Hil! i thought it would look really cool, iv never seen it done before, has anyone seen it done?

im actually thinking of attempting to repaint my housings white to match and custom projector led halo ring kinda like the ones you see on clearcorners website. im not too fond of the traditional "halo" ring.

i think it would look sexy.. i had color matched the housings both on my s14 and spyder and i like it.

If you color match it, i'd suggest getting the ebay clear lenses while you're at it, i think it'll look much better.
