Default why does this car feel slow..

Hi, just picked up my car(1997 sc400) and drove it from MA to NC. Had it tuned up before the trip of course(oil change ,spark plugs and wires, brake pads and rotors , radiator flush). I know its a V8 and rated at 260 but why does it feel like it doesnt want to take off and the doors feel like its a thousand pounds each..Even my old 2001 330ci v6 225 hp felt like it took off much better..is this how a V8 supposed to feel like? just curious..

Cause SC's are not considered fast.
The doors are heavy because they are. Look at the hinges, have you seen any other door hinges that beefy?

My X5 doors you need to stand against a wall and push off to close the damn things, but a 3 series? tin can. The SC is a tank in comparison.

When I sold my E36 and bought my E46 (which I sold for my X5) I was amazed they managed to even rebadge the car because it was just an E36 with a facelift.

My E36 below had the exact same doors as my E46 and you could close these doors by blowing on them from the outside.

The car is 15 y/o and probably puts down 200 to the wheels give or take and it weighs 3500+ lbs so its not fast. The 330 is a I6 btw.

No complaints about my SC400. It's no rocket ship but I think it'll hold its own against similar cars. It does help that I've cut the "shift accumulator" wire on the ECU that gives it firm shifts and much more oomph in first gear. By default the ECU does its best to prevent rear end squat and make the car's deliver feel smooth. I say if I'm at WOT, I want all hands on deck!

Only SC that feels noticeably quicker is a 99-00 SC4.
