Are all stock SC stereos compatible no matter what year? What about the nakamichi ones?

 

No, now let me remember why I am so certain of that. I bought a Nak to go into my '93 SC300 and turned around and resold it. There was a problem with the wiring harness which may have been the missing wiring for the OEM CD changer or the OEM amp I wanted to put in the trunk. I think it was the CD changer.

So, I started with the tape deck unit and no CD control. I bought the Nak with the CD control to correct that. I bailed when I figured out I had to rewire to the trunk to make it work.
