You see thats something that I hate a lot.. when a dealer lies just to get the person to come for nothing. They do that all the time. I sell cars a lot through my friends dealer and I was always upfront about everything (also its illegal to lie about a rebuilt in fl.) In florida when get the receipt for a rebuilt title car they have to show on the receipt that its rebuilt and you have to initial or sign it. I re did the receipts for my friend dealer just for that.

Rebuilt isn't always so bad.. you can save a lot of money but when you try to sell it again its a pain in the but.

Here is my car.. I only have $2600.00 in it total for fixing and parts, car, auction fee, deliver from Tennessee , and doing the rebuilt.

Afterwards:

WAnna buy mine now lol.. jk. It was a total loss... hahahah.

But I do hate shady dealers. If they were up front about the car it would have sold already. I use to even show the before pictures to people if they asked me.

No problem. I dont know about trading your car in. Judging for by what you described about your car you may get more at a junk yard. (no offense lol ) I would say hold off a bit more and save up to buy one from private party. You could borrow some cash from parents/friend if you want. At least thats what i would do.

As for salvage. Ive seen quite a few salvage cars that are in better condition then the clean title once. You just need to make sure and check for everything before you buy, HOWEVER, you should be aware that if you get a car with salvage title, your insurance company will not cover your damages. Atleast according to my friend who deals alot with these type of things. You should double check this before taking my word for it but im pretty sure that in FL, that is the case.

When i bough mine i had to leave at 6am to drive to tampa in order to get it. I know exactly how you feel about the travel times but its impossible to know what your getting unless you drive there and find out.

Here are a few pics of my car that i got for 4600. Just so you know what you should expect for your price range.
