I would love to see a monkey fully vinyl wrap a car lol. Must not be that easy because I have seen a lot of cars that didn't turn out good at all. It looked good from 25 feet away. Up close all the edges were messed up. Doesn't look right on the door handles. The door jams and engine bay are still the factory color. And under good lighting it looked like swirl city which looked terrible. Maybe somewhere where its perfect weather all the time and it never rains lol. Here in Vegas it makes it through one hot summer and its done, so a waste of money. I know several people who have tried it. Even people who just do their roof black get maybe 2 years out of it max after the hot sun gets to it.

That's what I was gonna say.
Paint all the way baby.
I've read stories of people taking the vinyl off the nexct month cause they hated it.

Whatever you choose, think hard about doing the matte finish. It's a fad. Some people think it's cool but looking at your car everyday can change your viewpoint. Making your car look like it needs a paint job...after you've painted it to look like that hits you right in the head.

Tanaka, I almost cried when I read that sig... Good stuff, brother!

As for me, I'll just stick with my fading red paint for now... Otherwise, my homie would have to give me crap about something else.

If your thinking of the whole car go with paint. If you want some temporary graphics then vinyl.I highly agree with good quality paints though.Stick with Dupont,PPG,House of Kolors etc.Don't get some Macco paint job(unless your on budget)...Although I have seen some pretty decent ones here there

Interesting read Tabaka. Great info.

I'm all for paint, its there after 20, 30 even 40 years if taken care off. The cadi had flawless factory pearl white paint until the day of its demise 20 years later. I wouldnt say I took premium care of it except for wash and wax and maybe once every couple years detail job. I have no real experience with vinyl but its durability seems iffy to me.

A good idea for a protective layer though, to get through winter or something.

Why waste your money on vinyl when you could paint it and have it done the right way the first time. You can always apply clear vinyl to protect the front of the car from chips after the paint job.

ronricorum, yes people have wrapped wheels before. Keep in mind that excessive heat from the brakes will create problems over time for the film.
