Factory Offsets
thanks for your help everyone...just a few things
coming from the Acura side of the house, we had some limitations...
Our factory offset is +65mm, rims had to be a minimum of +42, optimum is +48mm - +50mm. Good luck finding a wheel that is of your taste and width in those offsets (read JDM wheels).
Suspension is limited as well - Coilovers that may be available would be from Ms Emerald, and that is the jIC Coilovers....problem with that is those are like always on backorder....only other option is Ground Control Coilovers, those sorry Eibach 1" drop, H + R, or Intrax and Suspension Techniques.
So, bare with me, just trying to learn the quirks and what not about this vehicle, picked mine up yesterday...it is awesome. it feels good to be able to put some meaty rubber and lips on my car without worrying too much about scrubbing, etc.
ok, more searching...

Pcmw,
The factory wheels are 7 in not 7.5. Maybe that's where your calculations are off. If you significantly change the offset from stock on the front, the steering can become "darty" because of the greater scrub radius, which I beleive is the distance from the center of a line drawn between the upper and lower ball joints and the center of the rim.

Raj,
That is why I gave a range of possible offsets.
However, according to all the info I read about the factory wheels.
"The SC300 stock wheels are 15x6.5 inches (all four), and the stock tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE940 215/60ZR15
The SC400 stock wheels are 16x7.5 inches (all four), and the stock tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE940 225/55ZR16 "
cut/paste from Lex400sc's faq

I note some confusion regarding the correct offset for SC/Soarer wheel rims.
Factory rims have +50mm Offset, this would be applicable to rims upto 8.5" width.
Fitting rims with less offset on the front will change the handling due to the increased track / altered scrub radius, many wheel shops can get close to optimum with +48mm or +45mm which should be fine but +50mm certainly is the correct offset.
The rears can go up to 10.5" (possibly 11") width, here you can drop the radius to +38mm to prevent hitting the wheel arches.
