Hello from New England!

Just picked up my 94 SC300 with 210k on it. 2 owner, last guy had it for 20 years and garaged it in the winter (which in this area are brooootal). It's been painted, and I gave it to my retired father to detail since he loves doing that. Otherwise it's just as how I got it...including those chrome 18" enkei wheels. LMK if you want to buy them, not my style at all.

I used to be an S chassis guy, having an SR20 S13 and a KA-T kouki s14. It pains me that this car is an auto and without boost.

I have no idea how I want to reach my goals with this car yet - whether it's an 1jz with R154 or swapping an AR-5 or CD009 and boosting the high mileage (but insanely quiet and beautifully running) 2J.

Thanks, I've been a lurker awhile and this forum has already been really helpful!

Just bought a '94 SC300 from an old friend who is too old to drive now. Best tribute I can think of to cement our friendship of many decades. The car needs lots of luv.... I'll be posting questions for the experts here an will appreciate candid responses. Thanks for letting me join. Bob

You have roughly 3 choices. Professional reupholster, high quality seat covers (1 example below), or after market replacement seats (often involves new rails and loss of electric seat adjust). Research your best option for you....

Steering wheels have several after market choices and many go with a 3 spoke Lexus RX which requires some wiring challenges with the air bag harness. Use the search option and FAQ threads...

Post pics of your ride when you can.... and of any progress....
Hey appreciate man, I ended up passing on that car ended up finding a clean one for sale

Default Let me introduce myself.

Greetings. I have been observing, reading and applying information posted on this forum ever since I have purchased my 1992 Lexus SC400. All I have is a positive feedback to it's members and applause the creativity of SC owners. Everything has been very helpful. The amount of effort members put into explaining the repairs around the problem or custom alternative solutions is priceless, along the detailed pictures of every step of the process. BIG THANK YOU. My name is LEO and I am an owner of 1992 SC400 since 2016. What a car! I am very excited to participate on this forum and help out if necessary to anyone that might come across similar issue with their cars, as I have had. Pictures are yet to be posted.

Smile New Member - Greg

Hello,
My name is Greg and I am a new member. I have never been on this forum so I'm still a novice. I bought my first Lexus LS 400 in 1992. After 280000 miles on my LS, I bought a used 2003 LS with 65000. I drove it 200000 until I totaled it last year.

Six years ago I started looking for an SC300 with a manual transmission in excellent condition. I gave up after 3 years and decided to buy a 98 SC400 out of CA as a princess garage car. I spent $10000 for it. That may have been too much, but I was the 3rd owner and it had only been in CA. In 3 years I have put about 7000 miles on it. Everything on it is great but the cd changer. I have started to get err messages and it's not working. I'm open to suggestions. HELP!

At about the same time I came across a 95 SC400 for everyday driving. I told my wife it was a back up for the LS. I guess it was a good thing. It had 120000 miles and it was part of an estate sale. I think I got it for just under $2500. The body was banged up a bit but with that mileage I didn't care. It now has 180000.

After my experience with my 92 Lexus, we bought my wife an RX300 in 1999. She put 200000 on it an we got her a 2012 RX350 a few years ago. Over the years we have only gone to Lexus and had great service in UT and NJ. The first dealership in CA was trying to figure out what service "really" meant. Maintenance at Lexus is pricy but for me worth it for me!

This is my Lexus experience and I think we with them forever,
Greg

So I left a few years ago........ shame. Now Ive come back no more Nissan s13 or s14's for me. Just got her today. She came in at 145k on clock. Already have a W58 with 30k on it! came out of a state side 5 speed. He went with the CD009, so I got lucky.

Most of us are on at least our second Lexus. Awesome to hear you've had such a good experience and that they've provoked such a great loyalty!

Tell us a little about yourself and your SC. If you have them, I strongly enourage posting pictures of your ride (you will certainly be asked by the members) in your introduction.

As the moderator team comes across other new member introduction posts, we'll merge them here.

NOTE - PLEASE DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR NEW SC IN THIS POST, they will get lost in the shuffle. I'll quote one of our forum moderators with some good guidelines about getting started on CL for those questions:

A final note, please be sure to start off with the FAQ / DIY Links thread at the top of this forum.

Sorry, its the only picture of my 99 lexus sc300. This is the second used sc300 I've owned. My wife loves the cars. And yes i am new here and trying to find my way around. What forum should i wonder to to find questions and answers about locks and handles.
