Default looking for LSD for auto gte swap

LSD or welded diff. what do u guys think? i know the welded diff is the cheaper way out and with a experience welder, the welds will not break, but i also heard that welded diff wears out your tires really fast. i was wondering if a Stock lsd DIFF waste just as much as a welded diff. any help would be appreicated. i am also in the market for a TT lsd or other after LSD so hit me up if you got one.

Default welded diff a bad idea.

No one should consider using a welded dif on a street car. You WILL waste tires. This is because every time the car in not moving in a straight line the rear wheels are turning at different RPMs. If the dif is welded (or a spool installed) one tire must slide and that takes rubber off the wheel. It's like a constant burnout without the smoke. It can also be dangerous if you are in the rain or on a slick surface as the rear end can lose traction and spin the car much easier. In addition if you have enough tire on the tarmac you will break some thing the the rear axle at somepoint. If there weren't major drawbacks you would find only find difs on high priced cars and all the econo boxes would be spooled. Spools are an option only for a drag car that never see the street. Welding is a violent process from the stand point of the material. The material in your rear end has been heat treated to allow it to last over the long run. If your asking it to work harder due to increased torque from the engine and then you destroy the heat treating by welding on the componets your asking for a major failure. Just my two cents worth. Your individual results may vary.
