Default '92 SC400 starting problem

Hey guys I'm new to the forums and I just got a '92 sc400 and I encountered a problem while attempting to start the car up, after the car sits for awhile (maybe an hour or so) the car seems to have a hard time starting up. I crank it and it turns over, it goes from 1000 rpm, down to 500rpm then dies out on its own. I tried pressing the gas pedal in while its about to die out and the car doesn't move or if it does, it studders. It takes about 10 tries to get the car going but once its going it runs smooth with no stalling or dieing out.

I noticed the oil level is a bit low, only the tip of the dip stick is covered in oil. Could this be a contributing factor to the starting problem? I really don't know where to begin. Any information is greatly appreciated.

im in no means a master mechanic or anything but i would start off by putting oil in that thing... i mean even if its not the reason why ur car isnt starting, i wouldnt drive a car nor start it knowing that it has low oil.

second, check all ur vacuum hoses... google a picture of a sc400 motor and look at the way the hoses are run and make sure ur not missing any. also make sure they are connected where they go. my car was missing a hose and it acted very weird at idle so i speak from experience. gl

If the car is staring, then dying out, the starter is working.

Sounds like a fuel pump or fuel pump ecu. In the diagnostic box, jump the B+ to the FP and see if it starts

thanks for the help guys. I added a bit of oil (maybe 1qt) this morning and the car started up fine, though I have a hard time believing that the oil level was causing the starting problem. I'll just have to wait and see if the problem happens again.
