and for clarification I wasn't bashing the creator of the thread, hell I wouldn't even have the right to bash him my SC is super duper slow I don't even think it would hit 125mph if I wanted it to.. I have to down shift into 3rd gear on the highway to pass someone.. So for those assuming that the creator of the thread was putting people's lives in danger, we have no idea if he/she was doing this while on an empty road, or cluttered with cars, so don't jump to conclusions, just hope it took place on an empty road I.E. highway late at night..

 

no harm done bro, and its he lol , and yes it was a mearly empty straight away highway, clearly visible ahead of me, no hill no dip, there were a few cars (like 4)

 

I don't like to post much on here because it feels like there are people camping and just waiting to express their hate. All these threads about swapping trans and going turbo I mean these cars have 2JZ engines why do you act like it's unusual for someone to speed in these cars? Not saying i'm for it but just let them post and if it isn't your cup of tea, don't drink it. My 2 cents <3

 

There's a time & a place for high speed driving. Just cause it was your time & place, doesnt meen that you were putting other ppl's live's other than your own in danger. So ppl, just stop with all the finger pointing, finger shaking, & shame on you posts. Every single person on this forum speeds on a daily basis. Weather its 1mph or 60mph over the posted limit. So stop acting like your the most responsible person on the road.

 

Actually yes. Honestly I've never done anything over 85, call me what you want but I just don't feel like stomping on the pedal just to see how fast I can go. Hondas are alright cars but not for me. And my head is fine where it's at, no ****** in sight.

Didn't mean to offend but just saying nay to speeding, I almost lost a good friend because he was speeding on the freeway. And no, driving fast in a Honda isn't cool either it's lame cause around here that's all they do. So do what you want with your car and forgive my rudeness earlier. Didn't mean to come off as an A**.

 

its aii, no hard feelings i was just really annoyed last night cuz of my girl problem and then saw these and was just started posting away lol and i knw what you meant by the whole honda thing, i just wanted to be a smart a$$, but like it was mentioned before, theres a time to speed (clear weather, minimal to no traffic) and time to go normal, and i think before speeding which is mainly why its on a highway and at night
but as for the honda thing, its mainly bashed on cuz theyre running a little 4 cylinder, with an intake and a fart can exhaust (mostly) and think theyre going fast, i dnt speed for that reason, i knw im going fast, we dont own slow cars and we dont rice out our cars, occasional speeding is good for

You know there are ALOT of members here that are still in their teens or early twenties and when they see these sorts of threads it will give them the idea that everyone at one time or another has reached these ridiculous speeds of 150+ mph and its no big deal.

if you like to go that fast thats fine go for it, be safe, smart and good luck to you , but there is really no reason to make a thread about it, because whether we admit it or not it does encourage others to do it.

Also im tired of hearing people say that these cars are old and they can be bought for cheap so we need to get our heads out of our asses etc.....

The fact is these cars were a head above the rest and still are in many cases, the only reason they can be obtained for cheap is the amount of mileage they have on them, its no reason to start treating it like a bucket.

Since when is the cars age and price a reason to start abusing and butchering it, cars like these almost get better with age for many reasons.

Try pulling these threads off in a Mercedes or Jaguar forum and you will really get told where to go.

So getting back on subject, blacksc4, is your car completely stock? I remember when my SC was stock the only way I could hit 140mph was if I was going down a huge hill. I took a video about a month ago of my car hitting 155mph that I've been reluctant to post on here because of whats been said in this thread. Anyways, I've only done it twice but ever since I did the 4.27 diff swap and custom dual exhaust, I can hit my governor without even breathing hard. I was told that swapping out the 3.92 diff for the 4.27 would take away my top end but from what I've seen, both low end acceleration and top end are much better. The only thing that sucks is that 155 mph is almost redline in 4th gear.

I've said it once and I'll say it 100 over again, every 92-97 SC400 owner should do a 4.27 diff swap or get rid of that a340 trans

On a side note, I for one am also getting sick of seeing nothing but "please help, my car is broken" threads. There really should be another sub-forum for that. Yesterday, at one point every thread on the first page was a "please help" thread

 

Can't get any higher? It should top out at 14.5 volts. Normal range is between 13.8 and 14.5 volts. You might need a new high performance alternator.

I agree with you guys that most Honda drivers have intake and fart can and they think their cars are fast. Now that I am not a honda driver I see the kids with big spoilers, neon lights, loud exhausts and they are auto and turd slow, I catch myself laughing and calling them ricers.. here there are a handful of sub 12 second Hondas and they are all people I know.. man I'm getting old!

 

yep completely stock motor wise (have a cia but that wont do huge thing), still running an auto, all stock besides body and rims, but i hit this on a straight away no hill

yea i think my alt is going out, power steering hose had a leak so im looking into high output alt cuz if i play decently loud music, no subs, my volts will drop to about 11.7 and thats while driving the car
