I'm ashamed. I heard people all the time talking about superchargers. Yeah, yeah yeah, okay, it increases HP. But what else does it do? Don't get me wrong, more HP is cool enough, but I'm definitely missing something, especially because by the sound of them I actually thought a supercharger was some sort of electrical console or fuel line amplifier. Now I see it looks like a fan installed in the air intake system, a very simple looking concept, but I have a general idea of how that could increase power. Does anyone have a dummy's introduction to superchargers? Any specifications, advice, opinions, ideas, or thoughts about a supercharger specifically on a 92 SC400 are appreciated.

*face palm*Agreed. That same thought came to me right after I made this thread. I've been getting so much amazing help lately that I've been going post-crazy. But it's true that simple things like this are better left off to independent research. I'm on a computer after all! From now on I'll leave more room for people who have better things to talk about. Don't worry, my self-esteem is fine and I'm not coming down on myself too hard, but really, I could have just gone to Wikipedia. Maybe I'll post again in the future when I'm personally more knowledgeable about superchargers can talk about the specifics. I'll go ahead and check out that Wikipedia link you gave me to begin with. yea ur best bet is to get an understanding of how a superchrger technically works because the info we will give you may just confuse you even more...so get an understanding then you can be helped on applying it to your car
