Default Starter Woe

Hi Everyone!

Need a little insight on a strange issue. When I turn the key to start the motor, the starter doesn't seem to want to catch, and it just spins (whirring sound). If the car is cold, I can usually get it to crank and turn over with ease. However, once warm, it will never start again. This is a vvti 1j

Here are a few things I've done to remedy:
1. Replaced starter solenoid
2. Cleaned battery terminals
3. Cleaned starter contacts
4. Replaced starter motor

The above has not fixed the issue. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Gario

If you can hear the starter motor turn and its not making contact with the flywheel it could it be the bendix drive (in the starter) not being pushed out or the teeth on the flywheel are worn out (I doubt that since you state it only has problems when its cold)
