I wholeheartedly agree!
It won't become the next Civic/240 for a long while at least...You'll know if it has gotten to that point when you start seeing like 7 or 9 of 'em (all somewhat modded) all at once at mixed car meets in Iowa,Oklahoma or Wisconsin...And so far, I haven't seen more than 2 (3 if I'm lucky) at a "typical" mixed car meet here in Southern California.

It is what it is guys...almost all cars depreciate drastically as they age...as an example, the BMW 6 series...it sold for $100,000 6 years ago...you can pick up a clean one now for $35,000.
The Ferrari Testarossa sold for $220,000 back in the 1990's...you can pick up a clean one for $35,000, even less.
Most cars will depreciate tremendously...most are a very poor investment. If you enjoy the car, then it is your baby...whatever the car is.
If you want resale value, invest in something besides a car...
Enjoy your SC... It is a great car. Mod it if you have the money and the desire...remember, almost all modded cars sell for a fraction of your mod costs...just the way it is...
The SC is not a Civic or 240...It stands on it's own, and it got it's praise in it's hey day...remember...the youngest of these cars is 11 years old...old for a car...especially in the USA.
Just enjoy your car...no matter what it is!

To me there is a huge difference between a poorly modded Civic and a poorly modded SC. When I see a poorly modded Civic I just shake my head at the thought of all of the other ricer Civic owners that have the same mind state as the person driving that particular one. But when I see a poorly modded SC I shake my head empathetically as I imagine the shared disgust of other SC owners.

I disagree with you - somewhat. The second car looks disgusting. The first car looks pretty nice.
When it comes to wild wheel colors, it's all about execution and color coordination. First car pulls it off well, the second one didn't.
While I like that the SC platform finally got a thumbs-up (seems as though they were always out-shadowed by other cars), I'm currently looking for one and this might make my search even harder. =[
