Default 1992 SC 400 question

Where is the transmission drain on a 1992 SC 400? Also what size wrench will I need?

on the bottom of the transmission. probably a 13 or 15

First look for the oil drain pan. It's closer to the front of the engine. If you see the drain plug for it, it won't be centered. The oil pan drain plug on the passenger side.

Now you can look for the transmission pan. It's a bit further back, further away from the front of the engine, but the pans are somewhat similar in size, you won't notice a drastic difference. This pan's plug is not to left or the right, but is centered. However, it's not necessarily in "the" center. It's closer to the end further away from the front of the engine.

Use a 9/16 on that bad boy.

If you're using T-IV like you should be, make sure you know what fluid was used last. This is an especially big problem for people who just bought a car like this. Some people didn't bother to check the Lexus bulletins, most importantly in this case, the one that directs owners of this car to switch to T-IV. Some of these cars still have Dex II in them unfortunately, you don't want to mix transmission fluids.
