1. Search is your friend.

2. Unless you have deep pockets there isn't much you can do with a 400 to make big power. What is your hp goal ? That will help determine what direction you should take.

Do maintenance first! Check ALL of your bushings, suspension components, etc. THEN worry about making power... can't go anywhere with 500hp if you don't have a way reliable way to put that to the ground!

1. Put some good exhaust on it so it can breath.

2. Search for mod to disconnect the 4th tran solenoid for better of the line performance along with a good tq converter.

3. upgrade fuel and ignition system

4. Choose your cams wisley based on the type of power added you intend to use. NOS, Supercharger, or turbo.

To do this all together will cost a good penny but you can always go step by step and enjoy the ride as you go. Also find a reputable tuner to help you safely maximize your gains.

the advice given so far has been sound advice.

Im going to post this link not to insult you or your searching abilities but to hopefully enlighten you.

You 1uz has alot of miles already why put thousands into it.

Buy a newer one and build it up if your so inclined.

good luck im a v8 1uz guy myself and would love to see u go this route.
