Oil Capacity
My owner's manual for a 1993 SC300 notes that the oil capacity with filter change is 4.1 U.S. quarts. My SC300 shop manual has 5.1 qts. with filter change and 4.1 for the SC400. Based on the dip stick, the SC300 needs 5 qts. My MKIII Supra required 4 qts.. Am I missing something here?
Yea the manual said 4.1qt with filter change. I put in 4.1qt and the oil barely touch the stick. I had to add another qt to have the oil somewhere in between the L and F on the dip stick. I was wondering the same thing ....
I've owned my 93 SC300 for 3 months now and decided to change to synthetic Mobil1. My Owner's manual on the last page (Gas Station Information) states that the oil capacity of an SC300 with filter change is 4.1 qt. (3.9 L, 3.4 Imp. qt.). When I used that amount, the oil level didn't even reach the dip stick (cold). This could be due to 2 things. The capacity in the owner's manual is incorrect or my dip stick is short  My shop manual, on the other hand, has a capacity of 5.1 qt. for the SC300 which must be the correct amount since I can now get a reading on the dip stick.
