OK I got the fronts done. Took a long time. We replaced upper and lower control arms and the ball joints were a PITA on the uppers. Ended up having to completely remove the rotor assembly and put it in a vice on a bench and beat the ball joint out on one. While we were at it I replaced the rack bushings with urethane bushings, replaced the rack boots and replaced the front and rear sway bar bushings with urethane.

So here is a question. The car squeaks. Not all the time. Like when I get in and sit down it goes squeak. Its not a high pitched squeak. Its a lower sound like rubber slipping on a metal surface if that makes sense. Makes this noise if you bounce the car and when driving you can hear it going over bumps. I have heard that the urethane bushings squeak. Could these be my sway bars? Here is what I have again.

Control arm bushings are all new stock rubber
Rack bushings are polyurethane
Sway bar bushings are polyurethane.

Did you grease the crap out of the sway bushings? I had urethane bushings on my other car before and removed then eventually because they would squeak as soon as it runs a bit dry.

Did you use plenty-o-grease when installing your poly bushings? I do believe that you have to be very liberal with grease when installing polyurethane. Otherwise, you do get that "squeek" that you are talking about.

I guess I misunderstood about greasing these. I thought just the control arms had to be greased if you went with urethane. So the sways need greased as well? What kind of grease. Just silicone?

Got one of the rear shocks done in my garage. For the life of me I got not get the 19mm bolt on the passenger side shock to break loose, so will have to wait till I can get back on my friends lift and use his higher power impact. But I got the drivers side done. Pretty easy actually.

While I had it jacked up I also took the time to liberally grease the rear sway bar bushings. I ended up using Mobil1 Synthetic grease. From my research I found people use all kinds of grease and it works fine. You just don't want to use a petroleum based lubricant.

More to come..

You did torque the control arm bolts with the car sitting on all 4 wheels right(or with load on them)? Otherwise that may cause a squeak also.

Yeah I think we screwed this part up. Snugged the bolts up and lowered the lift. Everything bottomed out so we lifted it back up than torqued the bolts. Gonna have to losen em back up and place something under the wheel to give it load a retorque.

Ok update. Got the last shock in. Everything is adjusted. Have a slight rake. 2 fingers in the front. About. 3 in the back. Will have to see how it settled in the morning. We also retorqued the control arms with the wheels on the ground. I greased the front sways also. No more squeaking. The the thing rides like a dream. Brand new car. Will try to Post some pics tomorrow.

I agree with both of these statements. I think my car rides nice but it is a bit stiff on some of the bigger bumps. I have 600lb fronts and I think I went with 400 or 450 in the rear. It's a lot of spring for sure. Luckily it's easy to swap spring rates, and Hypercoils shouldn't be hard to sell.

Nice choice! I'm running the 600/325 setup on my car. It's firm for the street but not overly so. I like it but I think it's stiff enough for the street. It is a little rough on badly maintained roads but otherwise it's very good. 500/250 would be a milder setup. My problem is that some existing door rattles have been amplified when it's cold out (194k miles) but I knew I'd have to rectify those before installing the coilovers.

OK here you go. I raised the car because I don't dig the low riding thing. Rides like crap low anyways.

What I started with. 20" wheels riding low.

Picked up some SC430 wheels (I like em). Still rode like tank though.

Here is where I am currently. Gixxer_Drew setup with Bilstein shocks and Hyper Coil Springs. Rides nice and smooth at this height. Also handles excellent.
