Power steering issue
When this happens to the power steering https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...s-one-out.html does it cause the engine to die after barely being able to idle for about 60 seconds or would the engine bog down when you turn the steering wheel really fast?
My power steering is on the fritz and Im getting ready to replace it right now so Im hoping this solves the problem of my engine not being able to idle. Ive read through all of this https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...then-dies.html but dont seem to most of the same problems because my car still drives perfectly fine, it just wont idle. Oh and it doesnt start acting weird until the engine is completely warmed up and Im not getting a CEL either. What the hell is going on? My car is a 1UZ by the way.

The car starts perfectly everytime and my power steering whines like crazy but I know its crapped out. It only starts bogging down and eventually dying after its been idling for a couple minutes or so. It does it no matter what the outside temperature is but it only does starts bogging down once the engine is completely warmed up. At first I thought it was either a fuel or air/turbo issue until I smoked an identical 93 SC400 today on my way home. So like I said, it runs great when its moving but the moment it starts idling it just gives up on life.

You can only do this for a few minutes but it should help you determine if its the pump or something else. First, let your car idle until its up to temperature. Turn the car off, remove your serpentine belt, restart car. You can only run like this for a few minutes (2-3) before you start to overheat but maybe that will be enough time to see if it will die or not. Be careful doing this and don't let it get too hot.
