Saw somebody mention that the factory struts from the later year SC400s will fit the earlier models and are significantly cheaper. Like $38? Is this true? If not, what are the best replacements just for stock type ride quality.
Any pictorial guides on a swap? This site is has saved me THOUSANDS in repairs with the guides you guys provide. Appreciate the help!
Called my local dealer and they said the older model struts were like $285? LOL and the new model struts were $65. Not quite $38, but better than the aftermarket that I’ve been seeing locally.
Should I do the newer model Lexus struts on my old SC or the aftermarket ones? Even the aftermarket sites say they fit all year models.
What all is needed for the job? One of those spring clamp things? Is that the only special tool?
Try Sewell or Carson Lexus. If you set up your account with Sewell there's a section that asks about your affiliation with Club Lexus, fill that out and you'll get a discount. Also here's a site I found if you decide on after-market: http://justsuspension.com/vaf/produc...=960&year=7168
Hope this helps..
