Wow, not even the timing belt and water pump service is this much on a 1UZ, which is much harder to do. Word of advise, don't go to the dealer, you're getting rapped!

I think the swap will be easier for you bro just ahead with the swap but not gonna happen with $2k if you replace the pump.seals.t belt and some other miscellaneous.
like I said there are couple ways to save the money on the wiring and use a gte aristo ecu if you do the wiring it will come out really cheap.I would have gone that route 3years ago if some had done it,and the 1jz stock ecu is some crap anyway.

There are both easy for me they both a day job.But for you I would think the 1jz with be the your best bet .
Keep us posted whatever you decide to do.

Quikgs wrote what I was thinking basically, na-t the right way is a lot o work but u get to go single turbo quicker. Swap will prob be easier for you, save up and get a 2jzgte swap its worth the extra power u can reach without going single.

why are you building the block? what's wrong with it?
are you aiming for 1000 hp if not I don't see the reason why you wanna build the GE bLock with gte parts .
lol you said you have $2k you can't all that with that kind.Maybe you have more money and you are telling us haha.
