Default rattling

the back of my 97 sc400 has been rattling ever since I got my car lowered an inch with eibach springs. I went to the dealership last week and they said they could not fix it because i had the eibachs installed. They suggested I get brand new factory shocks at a price of 1400 dollars. They said this would get rid of the rattling when I drive. Is this the reason why my car is rattling? and 1400 bucks ?!?!?! it had got to be cheaper somewhere...can anyone help me?

btw..the johnson lexus dealership in raleigh, nc is tight...I love the new building. Anyone work there in clublexus? Thanks

If your shocks are shot, then new ones will quiet down a rattling while driving. Best way to check this is a) jack the car up and look for leaking from the shock, or b) open the trunk and carefully apply pressure to the back of the car while listening for the noise.

If the shocks are indeed busted, then new ones cost $55 each and can be installed at any shop for about $200 for all 4

edit: That dealership looks "tight" because of the amount they overcharge you, so enjoy.
