Default Need radiator for a 93 SC300 MT

Time to replace the radiator in my 93 SC300 5 speed. Don't need anything fancy .. just a good replacement.

My question is about the manual trans and the cooling. Most of the rads I find online are for an automatic .. so they have the extra ports for the transmission cooling.

I looked at the Koyo site and they do not list an option for a manual trans car. I also pinged a few of the vendors on 'the' auction site and got what looked like automated responses saying what they sell will not work for a manual.

What is the real story? Can the holes for the auto cooling lines just be plugged? How is the factory radiator set up? Are there plugs ... and can they be removed and reused?

Thanks

The bottom of the radiator for an Automatic is a heat exchanger by definition. It'll heat ATF up in cold weather and cool it down (at least, somewhat) whenever it's heated up (it act's like a heat sink of the radiator).

As far as it mattering, if someone will chime in on the mounts being the same (I'm not experienced enough to verify this on this car). If you're worried about the heat exchanger, don't worry. You can just cap it off with two vacuum plugs.

As long as the mounts are the same, you can use the automatic one. You really don't even need to cap off the trans cooler ports, they will not leak anything..
