broken lug >.< what to do
so i bought a sc300 last week and i was in middle of putting on some new wheels on it today and i noticed once i started to undo the lugs on the passenger rear they were wayyyy over torqued or rusted on... all went smooth on the the front passenger to the front driver side then i got to the driver rear i had to stand on the tire iron and hop a bit.. and im a big dude and then it came to the factory lock first i tried with my arms (thinking yea right but what if??....) but didnt want to strain myself too much so there i go again standing on it and it resulted in....
was probably gonna have to bring home some tools from work tomorrow and mutilate the lug and get something around it and pray it comes out lol any suggestions?

That's why I don't like those type of lug locks. Just use a 12 point socket that is a little smaller than the lock and a good hammer. Beat the socket on as far as you can. You will want to give up, but just keep hammering until it is somewhere near a half inch onto the lug or maybe more in your case. Then it should come off.

This happened to me when I tried to install my Works, the previous owner decided to over torque the damn locking lug. Drove the car down to a local tire shop and they used a threaded socket, impact gun and a torch. had the bastard of in less than 5 minutes, didn't damage my stock rim and only charged like $10.

yea one of those extractor tools works wonders.
As for my lock nut, i always tighten it last out of my 5 star pattern and don't put as much torque on it to make sure it comes off next time i need the wheel off. Do it with customer's cars everyday. Honestly, though, i hate that design and prefer designs like 12 points as they are easier to get off and last a lot longer than those.

I just Put a large hex nut on the face and plug weld it. It gives you a hex to turn and the heat loosens it, was doing that for years before they came out with the extractor.
