oops, up to $390, good luck lex400sc, hope you get 'em, you're right even if they're not perfect you can get 'em refurbed even replated (if you have a wheel genius nearby like this guy in Seattle) and freight won't kill ya they're in CA.

What kinda tires will you wrap em with?

sphereman, no they are supposed to be a great fit, no rubbing even if the car is moderately lowered, the wide rears fill out the fenderwells nicely. The LSOC tech guru, Iain Wiltshire, runs them on his 2.5TT Soarer and says they work great.

Supra TT wheels are only 17-inches! IMO< that's small, small, small. 19s would be perfect, but even 20s with lowering springs fit nicely. Here's an SC with IS300 wheels.

thanks for the pic!

IS wheels look a little too small on the SC. I believe the tire size is only 215 whereas the originals are 225 and the GS4s are 235, right? I am leaning towards the GS4 wheels....

I have a pic of my car floating around somewhere with the chrome gs430 wheels on it. The benefit to having the GS wheels as opposed to the IS300 wheels is that they can accept wider tires being 17x8, not 17x7. I have 235's in the front and 275's in the rear. If you want the stock look, go with the GS rims, not the IS rims! Just my $.02

Jonny, you put 275's on an 8" rim? Aren't the sidewalls all stretched? Oh, and here's a pic of your car, I like the look with the chrome GS rims, and lex400sc, 20's ride like crap, are heavy, are not meant for performance, and IMO are just too much, they don't look right on these cars. I like 18's for performance guys, and 19's for cruisin' guys, but to each their own, some ppl like an oe look and for them the 17" GS (or IS) wheels are perfect, (Supra TT rims would be best, very wide for oe wheels) and are still larger and wider than SC wheels.

the guys at the tire shop said the max the rim could fit is 275/40, so I said let's do it. Granted, the ride quality has been sacrificed a little, it looks great from the back.

Lex Luthor, I agree, no offense lex400sc (to each his own, blah blah) - -

My opinion: 20's = rice

(btw, ordered my set of oem Supra TT alloys yesterday, should have 'em in a week)

I am going to try and take some better pics of my car in the next few days, I just realized how junky the photo looks! I actually just put a set of cross drilled/slotted rotors (thanks Tony ) on the car and added my ClubLexus stickers on the car, so I am fixin to take a new pic! The HID kit is a 6000k K2.......it can be found at my favorite retailer....www.ebay.com. I am thinking about getting the new 8000k kit that just came out and retails for around $450, or so.

Luthor, yeah willdo, I'm going to take a bunch more pix of my car with the stock alloys this weekend, from a lot of angles, then will shoot the same angles with the new wheels (it may be a while til I make the switch - gotta get tires next, $$) to show the difference in how the wider wheels fill the wheelwells - it's so hard to tell unless the angles are just right - I'm lookng forward to the change! Wouldn't have been able to make up my mind without all the help from this site!

JohnnySC.

questions.

1. how hard is it to instsall the K2s?
2. where did you install the ballast??
3. $450 seems a little too stiff, any GB is going on for this kit?

thanks.

I mentioned in another thread that my bro is a Volvo mechanic and he does all the work for me, I just give him a case of beer, so honestly I don't know how hard it was to do. I got my K2 kit for $325, but it only the 6000k version. The $450 unit I mentioned is the new 8000k version, it is very, very blue. Do a search on ebay and you will see what I mean.
