Default Power steering delete: how?

Alright my power steering high pressure hose leaks prefusely, while the usual fix would be to replace the hose, I'd rather just delete it because I really don't want to spend 80-100$ on it right now. When the pump runs low on fluid right now, it locks up and becomes like a tank to turn, sometimes it even locks completely and won't go any further than it has already gone. Thanks.

Why would you have to spend $80-100 to replace the hose? You could buy high pressure hose for a few bucks a foot at any auto parts store, and two hose clamps for a couple bucks.

Is the hose itself leaking or just the ends? If it's leaking at the ends then just replace the hose clamps for a dollar or two. If it's the hose itself that has a tear in it, then replace the hose as described above.

you realize the high pressure side has hydraulically crimped ends, right?
and that a normal hose clamp will not hold, right?

Yep, I think I misunderstood which hoses he was talking about.

You do realize though that if you remove the PS completely, the car will still be a tank to turn. This heavy car in particular. I would take the hit on the high pressure line and call it a day.

Just take the hit before you burn the pump out.
