Soarer Questons.
emilio - that's baller..
well yeah it was obviously an option - it's not a common thing, trust me..
...and trust me. you don't. want. shaking. mirrors. be glad we haven't got them.
the toyota soarer was available with about 250 different options for their original customers.. ranging from sunroof / no sunroof to scented air con filters to humidifyers and all sort of crazy ****
but the more electronic features these cars have... the more things there are available to go wrong with them...
i personally feel sorry for owners of EMV soarers.. i'd be paranoid of them sh1tting themselveS!!!

^^^ Yeah, I hear that the active TEMS air suspension on those UZ32's aren't so hot either and that fixing 'em is a PITA.
In fact, I'm starting to feel as though that even the power folding mirrors, rear window wiper and adjustable rear headrest options that the Soarers had, would be a somewhat useless (But nice) feature on our SC's...I'm sure there was a perfectly good reason why they weren't included on USDM SC's.

power folding mirrors - purely because you're the USA and your market would not allow for such features to be placed on a car that is priced so competitively.. for this same reason is why you didn't get the TT / T versions - your auto industry didn't want a foreigner that's a lower priced, better feature packed and more powerful package than their product.. ie: the corvette..
rear window wiper was merely an option.. given the low angle of the rear windshield they come in very hadny especially if your glass is a bit grubby!!!
and again - rear headrest adjustment was for Lpackage soarers only.. not pointless.. but it's not a huge consequential make-or-break feature..
overall.. the soarer has the following over the sc300.
TURBO.
digital dash.
opportunity to have different trims and interiors IE: Lpackage cloth / regular cloth / leather
plus a wide range of more factory options..
...mainly the turbo from factory is why the sc300 sucks :P just kidding guys!

Yeah, I'm aware of the protectionist regulations placed upon Toyota when they wanted to bring the SC/Soarer here to the United States...There were alot of things that they were prohibited from including in the SC, like the Navigation, Rear-view back-up camera, 2.5 TT engine,TEMS active suspension, power folding mirrors, 4 wheels steering...Alot of these feature were so ahead of their time, that these could've had a major impact of sales for the SC back then.
I have this crazy conspiracy theory as to why imported engines from Japan are getting harder and harder to import into the U.S...U.S Auto manufactures are lobbying as special interest groups to our gov't about this because, they're none too happy about more of the younger generation of buyers being into Japanese cars instead of American made cars....There's gotta be a perfectly good reason why 2.5 T.T Toyota Soarers are so damn tricky to import into this country.

Apparently, There are no real differences between the USDM and JDM headlights in terms of exterior appearances...Granted, there is the 9006/9005 bulb change and the fact that the USDM units have a little "Bubble balance" indicator in 'em. And to think I was about ready to fork out $200+ for a set of JDM headlights on ebay.

Also the turn signal housing has an orange lens inside on the jdm lights. And the usdm lights just use an orange bulb.
errrmmmm
plus the JDM lights are angled and aimed to allow for a "right hand driver" and the USDM and for left hand drivers..
seriously. US guys. STOP BUYING JAPANESE STUFF JUST BECAUSE IT'S JAPANESE!!!
