Default I think my caliper's bracket snapped...

I was driving on the freeway the other day, and all of a sudden I hear this clunk sound near the front left area of the car near the wheel.

I thought it was just a rock.

But when I took my exit and started to brake, I noticed that there was an inbalance in the car and I would hear a constantly repeated clunking sound.

I have not taken the wheel off, but I noticed that my left front caliper is "off" center from the rotor and scrapping in the inside of the wheels.

Any idea what exactly this may be? What can I expect to see tomorrow?

The bracket probably didn't snap, sounds like one of the caliper mounting bolts snapped or backed out.

^ what he said

That happened recently when my dad was driving his infinity.

Have someone look at the caliper, and go back and forth a couple times hitting the brakes. You should be able to see excess movement of the caliper.

Ive had this happen as well. Those bolts should be like 85ft lbs I believe, that's why they are huge grade 10s.
