Default Bought a JDM Soarer, body kit question!

So the question is, what the hell kit is this?!?!

I removed the kit to facilitate some body repair, and the side skirts are tagged on the inside as 'Inspection' pieces.
The front and rear bumpers have no such tags, and are still a mystery for me after much searching and sifting through hours of threads on multiple forums and google search results/images.

Are the bumpers Inspection as well? Perhaps an earlier version? They're not at all like the Inspection kits I see on here. My Soarer came with these body kit pieces off the boat from Japan.

Can someone PLEASE help me out?!!?

Oh, and just wanted to say you guys have a great forum here! Glad to be a new addition! Hope to have a build-thread soon! Have a nice FMIC to fill that bumper opening installed, and a bunch of other goodies as well.

Been for years. FC's, FD's, Skylines, other weird crap..blah blah... They're trying to get legislation to restrict RHD vehicles now (like in QC), but existing owners will be grandfathered in, so I'm good!

Yes, and thanks

Rollers are SSR Koenig Specials. 3-piece, 18X8 & 18x9. They're currently being refinished.

It looks like the same style as the normal inspection stuff, you might be right about an older model. It actually doesnt look half bad, maybe just some minor updates to refresh the look and an fmic for that big hole in the front.

"Normal" Inspection stuff? Not quite sure what you mean there...Link?!

As for updates, a very large intercooler now resides in that ridiculous opening, 95-95 tails are installed, and the wheels are being refinished (with center caps) in a gunmetal. HIDs are waiting in the sidelines too. Need to adjust the ride height as well.

Your post has got me searching again!

no idea what that bodykit is because your photo skills SUCK!!!!

(to dark, car is silohetted!!) (is that how silouhetted is speeled?)

wait, what??

anyway

to me is looks KINDA like the explosion kit

my suggestion

if canada is clamping down on imports. get as many CHEAP imports you can now- before that window shuts.

once the window is shut... sell them @ profit. if you want to do this PM me and i can put you onto some people

Thanks for the suggestion? Canada as a whole isn't clamping down on RHD imports, just a couple of provinces are. Namely the one I live in.

As for the pics, they were taken in Japan at the holding/shipping yard by the importing company quite some time ago. Trust me, I wasn't there. I'll email them with your photography guidelines, though.

I'll post pics in a few weeks once my car is "ready" to be photographed.

The more I look at my car and other photos, I think Matador was right....it looks like a modified Inspection front bumper, with the rest of the kit...likely to allow for a monster FMIC. I'll have a closer look at the backside of the front bumper to see if it was modified...hmmmm...back to the bodyshop!

Here's a pic of the inspection kit. Yours looks similar, but not quite the same.
