Default change odometer?

im looking to buy a fully functional cluster for my sc300..
however i want to keep the odometer mileage from my cluster(139k)
in case i can't find one around that(within 10k) is there a way i can swap/change the odometer with my odometer?

any info would be appreciated as always. thanks.

If you are worried about the car showing too many miles, I believe you can certify the swap and corresponding mileage difference/discrepancy with the DMV so that you can substantiate the true mileage for any future buyer.

bumping this back to the top...

i got my other cluster in..and i tried taking out just the digital odometer piece that plugs into the back of the cluster...
HOWEVER..it still showed the 211K instead of the 139K my car has from original cluster..

so my next step is wonder if anyone has tried using the entire back plate off the cluster where the odometer plugs into....it has to be that imo cause theres nothing else to retain the information of the odometer imo but id like some feed back before i dismantle my good cluster in my car..everything lights up and works and i will continue to use the motor/needles that work just maybe switch out the back plate that the odometer and use the one from the 139k cluster...anyone try this one before???

ok just a little more info if any one cares..

as i thought pcb does contain the info for the odometer..so swapping the boards worked for the odometer..HOWEVER i have a 92 cluster from my car originally and the cluster i purchased was a 95....these boards are noticeably different..i had to use my original clock with this board as well since the 95 has a temp sensor in it etc..anyway
using the board from the 92 resulted in the needle lights NOT working..im not sure why this is because as far as it looks they are the same in that manner..but apparently they are not....so i swapped back out the pcb to the 95 and put the cluster back together the needles work again the odometer is back to the high 211K miles ..

so overall i feel that you can swap the odometer reading by using a lower odometer back panel pcb however make sure its the same as the one you're replacing..

no problem..i did a little more research and noticed that people selling needles specified them for 94-96 sc's only so im guessing the needles didnt work for that reason..they are different in 92-93 then 94-96..

and im glad someone else can find this info helpful...

It's in the master chip on the cluster mobo. Lexus can only program it if you provide proof of mileage and it ain't cheap.

can said chip be removed and resoldered? If no, how can mileage be proved? also, some peoples definition of "cheap" very's. we talking over 400$ here? or more like 150$?
