Much Needed Lexus SC Repairs
Hey guys, after reading many posts, comments, suggestions and tips. I do have one question in particular. Recently my car had major work done on it. Compliments of the insurance company because of vandalism I had the choice for some really cool mods or get some repairs done on my car that needed major attention. I went with the repairs and to this day have no regrets.
For $4,000 dollars this is what was done to my car.
1. 120k service , new timing belt / water pump
2. Front Rear Brakes (new pads / cross drilled rotors)
3. Driver Side / Back Seats Leather Re-Covered
4. New Driver Side seat trac's. (it wouldnt go back or forward)
5. He also installed Supra Control Arms (he said it was better than lexus and cheaper, is this true?)
6. New Engine Motor Mounts
7. New Fan Shroud
8. K&N Air Filter Installed
9. New Heater Control Valve (my a/c works! texas heat is killer)
Many other things were done to my car such as new emblems, detailed and waxed, full tank of gas, and numerous small mechanical jobs.
He did a really great job and the guy was lexus factory certified. Please note my car is a salvage title and needed major work done to it. It runs absolutely beautiful being a 1993 with 155k.
He said every mechanical problem with your car has been fixed.
Now I can drive worry free without wondering is this the trip where my timing belt will snap ? (luckily it never did)
I still take care my car with regular oil changes and tune ups and to this day it runs smooth. Yes, I do have the burnt needles and partially blacked out a/c display but that's temporary. Bottom line is everything works and I'm much happier now than ever before.
I dont drive my car to race or even turn heads around. Just for the pure enjoyment of driving a Lexus. When I got my car I saw it in it's wrecked condition before I bought it. Luckily it was hit in the back and the front was fine.
Just my personal experience & thoughts!

Arthur,
During winter time it would blow really cold air and during the summer it would blow only "cool" air (cold a/c to me is when your ears start to freeze)..the texas heat is killer. He said it was leaking and needed to be replaced. After he replaced it everything worked fine.
