finally a member of the SC club
hey everyone, been a lurker on this forum for years but i finally joined the lexus club. i just bought a 92 sc300 5 speed. it needs a good bit of work, blown head gasket, no mufflers, starter is acting up and a lot of small things but itll make for a fun project. ill definately be posting and around the forums a good bit more now that i have this car. i plan on going the NA-T route eventually. the car also came with a rediculous amout of spare parts that a previous owner included with it that he got out of a parts car and the wheels that are on it are pretty damn nice too... anyways here are some pics for you guys
only interrior shot i have so far, ill have to get some more
the day i got it home
dirty engine
the car full of the spare parts
after a good washing

was it a good deal? i think its actually a favor that it has a blown head gasket because now you have to inspect everything and if you were going to boost it you should put a thicker headgasket on anyway so its really like a favor. Nice car like the rims and black

i would really just rather have the GE because id have to end up putting a single turbo on the jdm one anyways since the jdm stock twins are pretty weak. plus after using the oil sump off this motor and the other odds and ends just to make it fit in the sc i would have a useless extra 2jz sitting around

Yeah, I have been scouring Craigslist, Autotrader, the classifieds here, Ebay etc looking for a clean SC. The pics he had of that one did NOT do it justice. Nice score.

yeah tell me about it...when he said it needed new paint i was thinking it was gonna have that notorious toyota old faded and flakeing going on but the paint is great it has some minor bubbling on the trunk and one slotof rust on teh trunk but the rest can all be lived with. the body and interrior are in excellent condition considereing its age. it had to have been in a garage most of its life...if ony the engine was in that good of shape ha
