I have the same issue with my car right now. Replaced ECU, no effect, bypasses FP ECU, no effect. Now the car won't start at all. I suspect fuel pump, and I have a new one coming in so we'll see.

Bypassing your fuel pump ECU is safe.

The fuel pump ECU mod is definitely safe. I just did it to my car two weeks ago. I haven't had any issues of the car dying since then. It will cause the fuel pump to be running at full power at all times while the car is on. This will most likely fix it because my car wouldn't even start at all now it runs perfectly. Try it out and post if it works. Good luck!

Did you do what I told you? We are not psychic and can only go on the information you present to us. It takes all of 15 seconds to pull the codes like I explained... So do that, tell us your code and we can try to help.

Well, nothing is perfect in this world and lasts forever. You bought 16 y/0 car, what did you expect? lol. Sc400 ECUs tend to go bad and cause this random shut offs. That's only my assumption though because it's extremely hard to diagnose problem over forum.

^^^^CHECK ENGINE LIGHT = CEL
and correct me if i'm wrong anyone.. i don't think you can apply the lemon law to a used "as is" car sale... that's the risk upon the buyer...

So guy's generally how much does it cost to replace a fuel pump for a 92 sc400 and also what about the ecu? Thanks.

Interesting post for sure Congrats on getting it fixed. So do you like the speed of the car?

reason i got so worked up is bc the fuel pump was my first guess but at the same time i was like theres no way it would just stop.... so i thought jesus! something expensive and lexus!!!!

speed is ehhh compared to my old 240 but it rides a lot smoooother.

idk if i want to keep it or not, i feel more grown driving a lexus haha but the gas mileage is freakin terrible!! plus to fix up a SC cost a lot more than your average fixer upper... we shall see! i need to find inspiration somewhere to keep it.
