anybody from the bay area know how to cut springs on a lexus sc 400???im willing to pay!!please call me 415 720 9028!!!

if you are willing to pay it might be better to just buy a set of lowereing springs instead of cutting the springs which can be extremely dangerous to do !!

You could take it to any body shop. They have the equipment to do it. Last time I tried cutting my rear springs I ended up having to buy new ones to replace it.

i got h&rs right now..i just want a little more of a drop thats all...kinda of broke cant really afford adjustables....thanks for tha suggestions guys!!still lookin for someone that can help me cut my spring without charging a arm and a leg!!

Cutting springs is bad. But if you need help cutting them, then you can pull them out....take them to any machine shop, rod iron fence store, metal fabricator, rebar distributor or heavy duty equipment rental store and cut them.

Now if you are not familiar with pulling the springs out....then that is another story...

Whatever you do...do not heat the coils to cut them....don't use a grinder, torch, or welding iron. Heating the coils will make them lose elasticity and cause them to become brittle, not to mention they will settle about 1" lower on your car than you want them to.

Hehe....that's how I lowered my 88 S-15 about 9 yrs ago. The dumb **** we do when we're young!!

I agree. I did the same to a Toyota back in the days....not a good outcome. I cut the tapered end of the spring with a bench grinder. The spring fell out of the perch on the strut and collapsed the strut housing causing the car to fall on that wheel.
End Result: $5k in damage...ooopppss
