i thought the owner was a "she" and you're either smog legal or you're not. You can illegally pass a car with an illegal swap and run it around on the street... where your risk having a cop asking you to pop your hood. THis is not what i'd call smog legal.... smog legal is going through the process with the ref to get the car signed off and actually be certifiably smog legal with the engine swap.... if she did this (which is when i'd use the term "smog legal") then she should not have to worry about a cop asking her to pop the hood.
you said it was smog legal... yet you're worried about getting popped for your swap? which one is it?

If you had a gun on you legally with paperwork walking around the streets all day would you still want a cop to tell you to show it, take it out, drop it, get on the sidewalk, handcuff you.. and hassle you on why you have one out on the streets?? .. and then after a while tell you okay you can go now.. i hope the answer is no...

The car is smog legal I passed smog without "buying it" (dirty piping it) with flying colors. The car has all the parts to pass egr/maf/highflow cats BPU mods pass smog no problems.
The last owner was a "she + boyfriend" and i refuse to drive around a car someone else built (widebody) and pass it for my work.... so i tore it all down and built it my way my style. Only thing I kept that was still from the original car is the Motor/6sp tranny/car shell + frame. Everything else has been sold and replaced with my own selection of parts (suspension/interior/body kit/fenders/hood/mirrors/BPU mods etc)
