Shifter Mod

So I ordered the bezel, and finally found the time to do the shift mod...works pretty well, just had to break the black plastic spring support and fit a washer under the tensioner.

Did you have to cut into the metal shaft to attach the shifter ?
I thought they didn't make these shifters anymore.

Was gonna use a write up but just ended up winging it. It's really not that bad.

Um, I got the shifter off an auction site, just put in carbon fiber shift knob automatic. I ended up just breaking the black tensioner and replacing it with a washer...then took an angle grinder (over kill) haha and trimmed the bottom of the actual knob about an inch and a half rather than cut the metal bracket on the car.

I did the same thing......except I added a couple steps by putting a w58 under it....lol

Matador 04-25-10 09:30 AM

97-SC300 04-25-10 10:33 AM

I relocated the O/D button to the center cup holder.
I'll be putting it in the center armrest eventually.
I don't really use it much.

Nice mod man, you should've gotten the bezel w/ the Lexus logo on it. I love that little logo on the bezel.
