bushings. your lowers are probably on their way out, and it puts more strain on the uppers when you hit uneven patches cause the lowers give instantly, and when the uppers do this is changes the suspension geometry real quick (+caster) which causes the car to have the tracking motion. at least thats what I think was happening, I had the same symptoms, installed poly LCA bushings and it feels super firm!!

Took it by my trusted supra mechanic and found I have a shot tie-rod on the right side. Wheel wobbles bad when the front end is jacked up..

GTSFIRE-It MAY be Bushings, It MAY not. I have a 99" GS4 with 98K, I'm the second owner. I have similar "squirly" symptoms. I did Daizen Poly bushings to both upper and lower control arms, and the castor arm bushings too. I even did outer tie rod ends, steering rack bushings (Daizen poly of course) and it still sucks. Alignments, and new wheel/tires to boot. My wife's 96 Ford Ranger rides better than my lexus. A mechanic even told me my struts are strong. The only thing left to replace is wheel bearings (just had a co-workers 2003 Nissan Murano wheel bearing go out at under 60K miles) and my rack.

He said the bushings and wheel bearings were fine. With the front right tire off the ground, it wobbles back and forth a good 1/4 or so inch. It's bad. That's getting replaced just as soon as I can get the part.

Had the inner tie rod replaced today and there's a night and day difference in the way it drives. It feels very tight now and is no longer squirly. I wouldn't say it's a 100% improvement, but I no longer worry about the car wondering off into oncoming traffic when I hit a groove or uneven pavement. Just put four new rotors on it also and the brakes feel so much better.

GTSFIRE-I'll co-sign that. I just did my INNER tie rod ends, they were bad (search youtube for a test video) and the squirelyness is gone (I did my out and SHOULD have done the inner at the same time. STILL have the shake, but she tracks straight as an arrow down the road. Very secure steering!

I'll update this saying I've ordered a whole set of control arm bushings for my car. My front ends wanders bad over uneven surfaces and my front tires have feathered so bad it sounds like a 4x4 going down the road.
I used a crow-bar between the control arm and subframe and I could move it quite a bit with little effort.
The car still drives nice and straight on the freeway and does not pull, but watch out as soon as the pavement surface changes.
I'm hoping to get the parts early next week and then have them installed. I'll update again when it's done.

Where did you order the bushings from? My car is having similar issues.

ive noticed this as well..sometimes can be scary ..especially with all the road work on the interstates around here..doing 80mph then hitting uneven pavement...i definitely drive with two hands quite a bit just to counter this.

The place has somewhat of a bad reputation but I've never had an issue with them...yet. I haven't gotten my parts yet but it's only been a week.

**EDIT**
Just check the tracking website and it says they were delivered today to my house. So we'll see when I get home later.

I got my bushings from http://assaultech.com/ $63 bucks, and that included tax and overnight shipping. I haven't installed them yet, but its the start of my suspension do-over...... I never thought to check the inner tie rod ends, will check those next week.
