Default SC400 Transmission PROBLEM

so i've searched and couldn't find anything in my particular dilemna... SO PLS POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION IF I HAVE OVER LOOKED A THREAD

the transmission shifts fine, however when i shift manually from 2nd to 1st gear, sometimes it will not actually be in 1st, and the light will not be on, i know it's not in 1st bc i'll accerlate and it will shift through all the gears, i have to keep shifting the lever from 2nd to 1st to finally get it to shift into 1st, it will shift into 2nd like normal all the time, however the light doesn't always light up indicating its in 2nd..

the only info i could dig up from threads was possible a tranny solenoid however, most threads were having problems were it would skip gears and such, and AGAIN IN "D" it shifts fine through the gears

JUST MANUAL FROM 2ND TO 1ST, I HAVE TO FIGHT WITH IT, AND 2ND DOESN'T ALWAYS LIGHT UP INDICATING ITS IN 2ND... THANKS AGAIN

Leave it in "D" , its an AUTOMATIC not a manual.

sounds like its nothing major, i dont think its even in the tranny, it sounds like the linkage or shifter is slightly out of adjustment but i wouldnt worry about it.
