Default Where should I go from here?

Hey CL,

I'm about done restoring the car's mechanics, exterior and interior..
Now the biggest and probably the last step that I need to take is the performance upgrade..

The only performance or go fast mods that are on the car right now is that it has 3" piping from the cat back splitting into 2 Mufflers 3" inlet and 3" Outlet. Umm.. and an Apexi Power Intake. Other than that, it's a stock 1JZ-GTE that's been very well maintained and taken care of.

NOWWWWWWW..

What do I do? There's 2 Options..

Option 1 - I spend $6,000 modding the crap out of the 1JZ I have..

or

Option 2 - I go for a 2JZ Swap which will cost me $3,000 complete + a Hybrid twin turbo kit capable of spooling real quick and reaching my power goals. Really cool thing about the kit is that once installed, it looks completely stock. This all would cost me around $3,000+ or - so around $6,000 total, keep in mind that I would end up selling my 1JZ-GTE or completely parting it out..

So... this is where I stand right now... I still plenty of time to think since money has been real tight lately

Help me out CL

How much power are you trying to make? 1JZ is capable of making good power for not that much money and you already have the engine that you know was well maintained.

Either way, I'd go for a 2JZ swap but thats just me

475-550 rwhp..

Thing is though, that I might have to do a complete tune-up of the engine soon. I'm talking timing belt etc etc. It has 90,000 miles.

So if that's the case, I might buy a 2JZ-GTE for $1,500 and put money into tuning that up instead. Get what I mean?

I would say keep the 1jz and go single with supporting mods.
