718Murdoc's build thread
Hi everyone,
my car's been busy as my DD so I didn't do anything major as far as restoration goes, but I have been working on interior trim and detail. I bought an oem black carpet to replace the tan one and honestly the black carpet is a must for anyone with a tan interior. The original tan carpet gets dirty & discolored quick.

A while back my center armrest leather was peeling so I stripped it and painted the panel underneath. It matched well with the piano black center console but somehow I cracked the middle

So I need to get a replacement but while I was looking at the crack I thought to myself maybe I could fix it, better yet mod it; I had a crazy Idea a while back for a hidden mount for my phone/mobile devices. Heres my new project i'm working on:

I'm still working on a hinge but basically i'll be able to open and close it when needed. This may not be for everyone but it's just something i'm playing around with until the armrest is available.
Heres how she looks today after a bath:

I'm also working with some surplus polyethylene to make a front lip spoiler.

+1, it honestly makes such a big difference. looks beautiful when done.
and to 718murdoc, great colour choice. that black is very sharp.
im sooooooo jealous of yor center console. it looks so good. props to you for the restore, looks like it has taken a vast amount of time effort and money. hopes she turns out beautiful. you deserve it.
