Just did this last night and the only hard part was some of the wire plugs on the inside. Just reaching them was a pain. Other than that it was pretty easy. Looks way now that it is fixed up.

What about the small wire separate from the big group of the rest of the wires? I couldn't seem to get that out, it seems like there's no harness at the end of it.

Are you talking about the hood release cable?

No, its the small blue cable in the small hole of where the wires are bundled together. The smaller hole. I was thinking of just ignoring it since its close to the corner anyway, but its nice to be able to get the whole thing out.

If it cranked before and doesn't now something isn't plugged in. Either that it you pulled a wire loose somewhere.
Hope you figure it out.

The part that the wires go through, that has a metal plate. You just pull it out and its still attached by a little bit of the rubber. I thought the whole piece was rubber around a metal plate :\. Just hope this is cleared up for the first post, I had to figure this out myself.

i did this exact type of relocation today. i just tucked it up over the lip and ziptied it, but the car wouldnt start well. it acted like it had a dead battery. hard to crank, sometimes it would click and not crank. i think it was because the harness was stretched really tight like that. is there any way to get more slack out of the harness when running it over that lip?
thanks
added thought: I unclipped the harness and put it back into a full slack/ relaxed position and the car started up fine, same as normal

now i cant get the starter motor to spin at all

That wire relocation is unamerican, never ever do a wire relocation any other way than the way that I did it.

With a wire relocation like that you will not spend four hours under your dash unplugging connectors and risk your car not starting like the rest of us. Which I find completely intolerable.

Even the the tire does not touch those zipties when it rubs, I am sure it will fail, because you didn't do it my way.

UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had it tucked higher up in the fender like that as have lot of people for a while now.

Please note: this is the only way you can relocate the airbag wires which I did on both driver and passenger side fenders to protect them, It also gives about 1/ 4" more clearance from rubbing.

If you have actually had problems from doing it this way, please chime in. OTHERWISE DON'T BE MAD SOMEONE FOUND AN EASIER, CLEANER LOOKING WAY TO DO THIS.

LOL this is too funny! But im gunna have to say, putting it through the engine bay does seem like its a lot safer for us that are that low.

I dunno, when I look in the wheel well, where the tire rubs is a piece of metal lower down than where the zip ties are. I don't think the zip ties are in a location to get worn down where I have them.

I also drilled a couple small holes higher up, to put zip ties through and pull it higher away from the edge. I used a ton of zipties also.

Why do all this when u could just run it through the engine bay?

It doesn't look as clean to me with the wires going through the drivers side of the engine bay. Also, I had to do this to get the airbag wires tucked anyway.
