Default Got a problem, and need some help... Key wont turn

Hey guys, so i was doing something nice to my interior and my front dash today....
so pretty much, i had to buy some stuff so i only put the speedometer back on and my shifter and went on my way. After i got back, i started putting everything together and...

My Key Will Not Move To The RIGHT>>>!~!~!

so i need help...

the steering wheel is moving freely from left to right and all i can do is stick the key in, but it will not turn at all....

I tried steering to a lock, it locked and i am still having the same problem...

I did a search and couldn't find anyone with this problem. Similar ones but not the same so anyone help... I need to figure this out so i can show up to work tomorrow....

any help is appreciated... thanks.

If the lock assembly isn't aligned quite right, you won't be able to turn it. Did you put the plastic ring/cover piece back on? Try it without that piece and see if that helps.

Well, I'm not sure if it's specifically that piece, but you can kind of tell if the lock assembly isn't aligned correctly by the way that ring is on there. The funny thing about that piece is, when it's on there correctly, it actually looks a little bit off center when in reference to the curve/contour of the panel piece behind it. In the correct position, it actually looks like it's sitting a little bit higher than it's supposed to and if you try to center it, it will end up pushing the lock assembly out of place slightly. If it was working right before, this would be the only thing I can think of since it happened to me before. Hehe, I hope that's all the problem is.

^ bump your shifter in to park a few times and move ur steering around and pump on your brakes and try to turn the key all at the same time.

it doesnt seem like you did anything wrong to cause this o_O. Did you or anything bump your ignition while you were playing under there?

needs to *click* into park and then push up on the shifter (in park) while you do everything else.

=( i honestly have no idea how thats possible..

i heard of key barrels failing buts its rare if there is no dmg to the ignition itself.

try taking the parking brake off then go to neutral and rock your car and try to turn the key.
