The moment you've all been waiting for! My stock-ish 5spd SC on the dyno. (Sorry it's actually a QTP cutout)


Dyno day at Real Power Motorsports in Pensacola. Thought I'd get a baseline before NA-T. This is a 92 5spd with about 66k miles on her. My last car was a 1994 automatic SC300 and made 176whp with the exact same mods and 200k miles. (Injen intake and gutted exhaust).

awesome man. So what was the total difference in hp and torque between the auto and the 5spd? auto 176hp and 5spd made 181hp? correct?

i always wanted an electric cutout on my 1jz car, but everyone i know that's had them they quit working after not too long, even the qtp ones

I've heard the exhaust in person and it sounds great and one of the cleanest SC's I have ever seen. Wish I could have made it over to dyno my IS. Maybe next time.

Total gains were 3hp and 2 ft-lbs? Did the power/torque graph shift any towards the lower rpm range?

Is it sad that a stock SC400 makes the same WHP as an SC300 with only an intake and exhaust?

Update: Posted both dyno sheets.

Auto= 176.7/160.02

5spd= 182.94/171.01
Heck no. It's only open when I want to rev and sound mean! The drone while driving above 3k is too much to keep it open all the time.
