Default Need help: Issue with MAF

Ok, got my car back to NA and all but now I'm having a strange issue. The car does not want to start with the MAF plugged in. When the MAF is unplugged the car runs but runs rough obviously and really rich it spit flames sometimes out the exhaust(running open header for now til exhaust is welded back). Now as soon as the MAf if plugged in it idle straightens out for about 5 seconds the the car just shuts off. Now I know it's not the Maf because my friend maf from his sc does the same thing on my car but runs fine in his. tried resetting the computer but nothing changed. Any ideas what could be going on? Vacuum leak somewhere? Any help would really be appreciated.

I was going to ask if you reset the ecu, but seeing as how you already did the only thing that comes to mind is..well nothing..vacuum leak possibly, but doubt it..are you getting a cel?
