Default '97 RSP SC300 - is my offer appropriate?

After totaling my '95 SC300 last week (pictures are on my camera at home; thread will be posted up when I'm back home) I'm looking to jump into another SC; I mean, you really can't go wrong with these cars. I recently found a Craigslist ad for a 1997 SC300 in the coveted Royal Sapphire Pearl (56 OEM examples made) with a factory black/tan interior. It has 157,000 miles on it with a clear title; service history is unknown.

The owner is asking $5300, but there are a few snitches:
- Massive dent on passenger front fender and passenger door; approx. $886 to fix on my old SC for similar damage
- Missing OEM radio unit
- Driver's side taillight and headlight assemblies leaks moisture into the units
- Missing passenger side foglight

It's nothing I can't deal with; I don't mind a fixer-upper. I'm thinking of offering $3800- $1500 less than the owner is asking for, but if I do purchase this car it will see a fair amount of work/restoration done. It does seem to be lowered, and it definitely has an aftermarket exhaust system and OEM GS400 wheels.

Here is the link to the posting. I am intending on making a fair offer for both the seller and the buyer. If you were purchasing this car, how much would you offer? Thanks for you help!

Anything less than $5000 would be a good deal. If it was fixed it could easily sell for $6500.

hmmm..why pass this up and possibly never have the option of buying a '97 again? this thing is clean, id say do it. as for price...5300 seams like steal to me regardless of the current damage.

looks really nice...my guess it's been in a front end collision or something because the fog light don't just drop out and fender dent., make sure to check for frame damage or something major before you give him a serious offer.... I'd say 4-5K

Try 4800.. if not, 5300 is still very reasonable for what it is. Good luck, hope you get her!
