Default SC300 Electrial reliability?

i'm a noob here, so please don't set me ablaze. I've been doing research on this platform for a little over a month now. I'm planning on going with the I6 also.

Now, i know the bulbs in the cluster tend to go out, but as part of my research before i buy an sc3, i'm just wondering if anyone can tell me of any typical electrical issues that may occur with the sc3. And are there any electrical issues/differences with the sc3 and sc4?

any input would be great.

I searched "Electrical Problems" in the SC forums and got all these. Your going to have to bite the bullet and actually read on that one.

Yea, cluster dies out but it can be modified. Same goes for the climate controls.

It's not an electrical gremlin like European cars or like many of the newer cars. Most still use a distributor for chrissake

my dash looks like a black vortex. Tach and speedo out and 2 bulbs in cluster and 1/2 climate lighting gone.

looks just weird but I'm too lazy and impatient to take everything out to fix. Oh well.

Here's an interesting electrical gremlin for you...An indicator on my dash pops up telling me that one of my rear tail lamp bulbs is out...However, that's not the case when I check it out...it goes away after shutting the car off and then turning it back on.

youve probably got a bad/going bad ground in one of the light bulb sockets.

Just unplug the bulb

My 1997+ tails sets off that warning. I just ignore it.

Even though I doubt it...You don't suppose it may have anything to do with me changing all 6 bulbs on my climate control recently? 2 of the 3 "bolt on/screw on" backlighting bulbs came from the shifter bezel, while the other 3 backlighting bulbs (which have to be sodered on to the circuit board) were replaced with smaller $2 bi-lamps purchased from radio shack. Also, on a side note, whenever I'm using my turn signals, you can see that the backlighting on the climate control's screen blinks faintly in conjunction with the turn signals...Weird huh?

You mean to unplug the bulb inside the cluster guage for the tail lamp failure sensor right?

BTW, I forgot to mention that the lamp failure light only tends to come on when I dim the cluster backlighting...
