Ah, silly me - woulda helped to read your profile first - what and where do you sail? Yeah yeah, off-subject, I know - does anybody mind? Maybe I should start a new thread about SC drivers who also drive boats - -

Yeah major into boating...
Both sail & power enjoy what they each offer...

I will try the volume **** suggestion.

But the level of volume of the clicking is significant and maybe "click" is not the right descriptive it is maybe a Knock knock knock or actualy having listened to it all morning it is a nomk nomk nomk... continuous pattern or rythm...

No other motors running or accessories on at all...

Never have used the casette but will look there...

I will probably try and get the amp bench tested...

Still open to suggestions...

i have had this exact problem. i had this problem when i installed a new amp on to my system. there is a voltage drop somewhere in the circuit and is draining all the power. for instance, my 1500watt v12 just pulled too much power off of the original power wires. you need to get a multi-meter and just check across all the components to make sure they're not pulling to much juice.

Default Nak Amp Problem

Hi,
It sounds like the Nakamichi amp is the problem. If you need it checked and serviced our company can do that. Contact me via the Web site: www.lajollaaudiorepair.com We service the Pioneer and the Nakamichi systems for Lexus vehicles. It is cheaper than replacement.

i seem to be havin the same problm with my 96 3s300. i have the Pioneer system with the disk changer in the trunk. i started hearing clicks buy the drivers side dasdboard mounted speakers. it sound like the signal lights are on but not as loud. i'm thinkin about replacing my stock front speakers with aftermarket Pioneer speakers but i want to know how i can find out exactly what te clickin sound is coming from. i just bought this car 2 months ago and its already starting to bother me with this awful audio system.

I had the same problem, switched out the Nakamichi amp with a Kenwood 4 channel and a JL500/1: no more problems.

do you think changing my speakers would help? or changing the amp would be a better fix or maybe both. i found out that the clicking is coming from the left side front and rear speakers.
